Each teacher who participates in the Illinois Certamen League is required to be a current member in the Illinois Classical Conference.

NOTE:  MAIL THIS FORM EVEN WITHOUT MONIES SO WE CAN PLAN THE COMPETITION SITES.  You can make a copy if the school wants the original for its files.

The school will enter a (1) Certamen Team on these levels:

 

Jr. High______      Latin I (Novice)______     Latin II (Lower)______     Latin III-V (Upper)______

 

*Junior High level competition is held in all regions except the South region. 

 

Select a region and indicate the 1st and then the 2nd choice if possible.

School registration fees for the 2009 - 2010 school year are as follows:

 

1 team =  $20            2 teams =  $40          3 or more teams = $50

 

Some sites have been determined by the Illinois Certamen League for the first Certamen in October/November, but not all.  Would your school like to host a Certamen as well?  Let us know if you:

MARK YOUR SCHOOL CALENDAR NOW FOR CERTAMEN DATES.  TWO WEEKS BEFORE EACH CERTAMEN YOU WILL BE SENT A REMINDER OF THE COMPETITION DATE AND DIRECTIONS TO THE HOST SCHOOL.

 

WITH THIS REGISTRATION PLEASE INCLUDE SAMPLE CERTAMEN QUESTIONS which include toss-up and 2 bonus each (10 questions per level) AND ALSO DIRECTIONS TO YOUR SCHOOL IF YOU HAVE CHECKED YOU CAN HOST A COMPETITION.  If you need extra time to formulate questions, please bring them with you to the first competition.

 

We use 60 questions per competition on each level which means 240 questions per year on each level.  We are in need of new types of questions.  Help to make this process easier.
