| Favorite Pumpkin Bread |

Makes 2 standard loaves or 1 tube cake
350° for 11/2 hour
2 1/3 cups sugar
1/2 to 1 cup vegetable oil
2 2/3 cup puréed pumpkin
4 eggs
1 cup water
31/2 cups flour (half whole wheat)
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon salt
11/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ginger
Beat together sugar and oil
Add eggs and pumpkin and mix well. Sift dry ingredients and add to
pumpkin mixture, alternating with water, and beat until well mixed.
Pour into greased and floured pan(s).
Bake 11/2 hours at 350° until pumpkin bread tests done. Leave for 10
minutes in pan before removing to cool on a rack.
