HOT FUDGE PUDDING – BETTY CROCKER PICTURE COOKBOOK

350 degrees, 45 minutes, 9 servings

 

1 cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
¾ cup sugar
2 Tablespoons cocoa
½ cup milk or cold coffee
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1 cup chopped nuts or coconut or ½ cup chocolate chips
1 cup brown sugar
¼ cup cocoa
1 ¾ cups hot water 

Heat over to 350 degrees.

Sift into mixing bowl or stir together flour, baking powder, salt, sugar and first two Tablespoons cocoa.  Stir in milk and oil. Blend in nuts or chocolate chips. Spread in a 9 x 9 inch square pan. Mix together brown sugar and ¼ cup cocoa and sprinkle over the top of the batter in the pan. Pour hot water evenly over the top of the batter. Bake 45 minutes. During baking, cake mixture rises to top and chocolate sauce settles to bottom. Serve warm.
