Lamb Kampala

This recipe is a favorite of my sister, MaryBeth SanFilipo.

3-5 lb. Leg of lamb, cut into stewing chuncks|
2 onions, sliced
1/3 cup olive oil
1/2 cup rose wine
½ teasp garlic powder
½ teasp cloves
1 bunch carrots, quartered
28 oz. Stewed tomatoes
¼ cup flour
½ teasp cinnamon

In Dutch oven braise lamb in oil over medium high heat. 5 minutes per side. Reduce heat, add onions and garlic and sautee until tender. Add all remaining ingredients, bring to a boil , and simmer, uncovered ½-1 hour over medium-low heat. Place in 350 oven until done (25-30 minutes per pound.)
