Latin study can make learning Spanish easier. Likewise, prior knowledge of Spanish can facilitate Latin study. We provide ideas and practice for Latin teachers wishing to incorporate Latin - Spanish bridges into Latin without upsetting current curriculum. Focus will be on vocabulary and sound changes. We will use "Concentration" - type games; topical vocabulary clusters; model dialogues;
simple bilingual (Latin or English with Spanish) texts; employment of your current textbooks; and other materials and approaches. Participants will also explore aspects of New World Hispanic life with roots in ancient Greco-Roman culture. The staff includes presenters with both Latin and Spanish teaching experience.
